Carl Woolf - Solicitor Advocate

ABOUT ME
I believe that everyone has the right to the best representation no matter what 
criminal offence or allegation they face and I work tirelessly to gain the best results 
for my clients, whatever that may be.
 
I am a specialist Criminal Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience in all Criminal 
Proceedings. I regularly appear in Crown Courts and Magistrates Courts 
throughout the United Kingdom.
 
I am the Senior Partner of Meldrum Solicitors LLP 
 
I have practised criminal law for more than a 15 years and my experience has 
involved me defending clients charged in relation to customs and excise 
prosecutions, serious crime, major fraud and court martial. My Clients cross 
the spectrum from young to old, rich to poor and white collar professionals to 
blue collar manual workers.
 
I have represented foreign nationals involved in money laundering investigations
and many cross border investigations involving both national police forces and 
Interpol.
 
I have also advised clients both in the United Kingdom and abroad on Extradition 
matters both to and from the UK and dealt with clients facing International Arrest
Warrants.
 
I am registered as a Grade A fee earner as part of the VHCC serious fraud panel 
and undertake preperation and junior brief work in contract cases. I am also
registered as an Independent Advocate on the VHCC Panel and am available to
undertake work on these cases for other firms. 
 
My cases range from the most complex of murder cases to the most minor road 
traffic allegations.  I am regarded in the profession as an accomplished trial lawyer.

 

My work defending clients was also featured as part of a television documentary, 
which followed one of Scotland Yard’s specialist units. 
 
I have also Prosecuted for a National Animal Charity and for the Federation 
Against Copyright Theft.

  • Member of the International Criminal Defence Attorneys Association

I have also been appointed to one of the Lord Chancellor's Judicial Selection

Committee's on the selection, recommendation and supervision of Lay Justices.

 

I am involved in the training of new Solicitors as Advocates, the training of 
probationer Police Officers in giving evidence in Magistrates and Crown Court 
trials and have also lectured to numerous schools on the legal rights of juveniles.
 
I have also written for the Law Society Gazette on Higher Rights Advocacy. 
 
I undertake a large amount of work for Door Supervisors and the Security 
Profession on the  Legal Aspects of their work.
 
I have been involved in the Martial Arts since I was 6 yrs old and a Martial Arts 
Instructor for the last 20 years having taught not only in the United Kingdom but 
also around the world to both civilians, door supervisors and law enforcement 
personnel.
